For twins, each child's aqiqah is counted separately: 2 goats per boy, 1 goat per girl. Twin boys require 4 goats, a boy-girl pair requires 3 goats, and twin girls require 2 goats. The aqiqah of one child cannot be shared with or substituted for the other.

Scholars of fiqh are unanimous that this ruling applies to each child individually. There is no dispensation to reduce the number for twins — each child carries their own aqiqah obligation.
The aqiqah for twins follows the same principle as individual children. The scholars of the four madhabs (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali) all agree that the aqiqah of each child is a separate, independent act. Performing aqiqah for one twin does not fulfil the obligation for the other.
For Singapore Muslims, MUIS advises following the majority scholarly position: 2 goats per boy and 1 goat per girl. This applies equally to twins, triplets, and other multiple births.

Since twins share the same birth date, their aqiqah is also on the same 7th day. This means you book one slaughter event for all required goats. Preferred dates are the 7th, 14th, or 21st day after birth. Most Singapore families find the 7th day most in keeping with the sunnah.
If the 7th day falls on a day that is inconvenient (e.g., you are still in hospital), the 14th day is also acceptable. There is no requirement to split the twins' aqiqah across different dates.
Know whether you are expecting boy+boy, boy+girl, or girl+girl. This determines the total number of goats. Calculate your estimated 7th day from the due date.
